Blockchain Bridges

Why do I have to transfer my cryptocurrencies between chains?

Transferring your cryptocurrencies between chains is essential when you need to move assets like USDT or BTC from one blockchain to another—especially when dealing with platforms like X4T, which only supports Binance Smart Chain (BSC/BEP20). Each blockchain operates independently, so transferring ensures your assets are compatible with the network you are using.

For more information on why different blockchains exist and why they matter, see our article about blockchains and networks.

Multiple ways to transfer

There are various ways to transfer your cryptocurrencies between chains, with multiple providers offering this service. Popular options include centralized exchanges like Binance or decentralized bridges that operate directly between blockchains.

Important note

We strongly recommend educating yourself thoroughly before using any transfer provider. The tutorial below shows how to transfer using Binance. If you prefer using another provider, make sure you fully understand their process to avoid any risk.

How to transfer to Binance Smart Chain (BEP20)

  1. Create a Binance account:

Sign up and complete the required verification steps.

  1. Deposit your funds:

Log in to Binance, go to “Deposit”, select “Crypto Deposit”, and choose your coin (e.g., USDT). Follow Binance’s instructions carefully to avoid mistakes or loss of funds.

  1. Select the correct network:

Choose the network where your assets currently are. This step is crucial.

  1. Complete the deposit:

Finalize the deposit process. Your funds are now in your Binance account.

Withdraw to your X4T account

  1. Navigate to “Spot”:

In Binance, go to “Spot”.

  1. Locate the coin:

Find the coin you want to withdraw to X4T.

  1. Start the withdrawal:

Click “Withdraw” and fill in the details.

  1. Enter the withdrawal information:

Select the correct coin, enter your X4T Wallet ID (found in X4T under “Deposit” > “Crypto” in X4T). Copy this ID and paste it into Binance, then choose “BINANCE SMART CHAIN (BEP20)” as the network.

  1. Specify the amount:

Enter the amount and initiate the withdrawal.

Congratulations—you have successfully transferred and withdrawn your funds to X4T!
