How do I activate/use Two-factor authentication (2FA)?



As a hybrid crypto exchange, X4T takes the security of our users' accounts and funds very seriously. One of the measures we recommend to further enhance the security of your X4T Account is to enable Two-factor authentication (2FA).

Two-factor authentication is an important security measure that adds an extra layer of protection to your online accounts. It requires you to provide a second form of authentication, in addition to your password, to access your account.



Here are the steps to set up 2FA on your X4T Account:


Log in to your X4T Account and go to your account settings.
Look for the 2FA option in your account settings and activate it by clicking on the button on the right side.
We suggest you download one of these authenticators:



Authy (Google Play / App Store).

Google Authenticator (Google Play / App Store).

Auth0 Guardian (Google Play / App Store).

Microsoft Authenticator (Google Play / App Store)

Once you have downloaded and installed the app, scan the QR code or enter de code displayed on your X4T Account settings page using the app to link it to your account.
Follow the instructions provided by X4T to complete the 2FA setup process.



To test your 2FA setup, log out of your account and then log back in. When prompted for your authentication code, enter the code generated by your authenticator app. If the code is accepted, your 2FA setup is working properly.



Important Notice: After successfully enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), a recovery key will be made available within your profile settings under the section labeled "Two-Step Verification." This recovery key serves as a backup method for accessing your account in the event of losing your primary 2FA authentication method.



We strongly advise securely storing this key in a confidential location and refraining from sharing it with any third parties. It is crucial to note that X4T Support will never request your personal information, passwords, or recovery key under any circumstances.



We strongly recommend that you enable 2FA on your X4T Account to further ensure the protection of your funds. 

In fact, we recommend enabling 2FA on your account if your funds exceed 300 USD

By adding an extra layer of protection, you can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized access and keep your account and personal information safe.
