How do I enable/use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

As a hybrid crypto exchange platform, X4T takes the security of user accounts and funds seriously. One of the best ways to strengthen the security of your X4T account is to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

2FA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second verification step (in addition to your password) when logging in.

Updated steps to set up 2FA on your X4T account

1. Log in to your X4T account

• After logging in, open your account settings by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

2. Go to “Settings” and click “Two-Step Verification”

• You’ll find the 2FA option in the left-side settings menu. Click “Two-Step Verification” to start.

3. Enable Two-Step Verification

• Switch the toggle to “On”. A pop-up will appear explaining the benefits of 2FA. Click “Start” to continue.

4. Enter your current password

• For security reasons, you will be asked to enter your X4T account password. Type it and click “Next.”

5. Download an authenticator app

6. Scan the QR code

• On the X4T platform, a QR code will be shown.
• Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on your screen.
• If you cannot scan the QR code, click “Can’t scan the code?” to reveal a manual code you can enter in your app.

7. Enter the 6-digit code

• Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code.
• Enter it on X4T and click “Verify Code.”

8. 2FA setup complete

• After verification, 2FA will be enabled. You will see an on-screen confirmation that 2FA has been successfully activated.

9. Generate and save your recovery key

• After enabling 2FA, you will see a recovery key. Copy it and store it in a safe place.
• This key is critical if you ever lose access to your 2FA device.
• You can generate a new recovery key anytime by going back to Two-Step Verification settings and clicking “Generate recovery code.”

10. Test your 2FA

• Log out of your account and log in again.
• During login, you will be asked for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. This confirms 2FA is working correctly.

Important notice

• Store your recovery key safely: It may be required to regain access if you lose your 2FA device.
• Never share your recovery key: X4T Support will never ask for your password, recovery key, or personal information. Keep this information private.
• Enable 2FA for stronger security: We strongly recommend enabling 2FA to better protect your funds and personal data. If your account balance exceeds USD 300, enabling 2FA is highly recommended.
